Rolls Canardly

Writer: Matthew ShoomanMatthew Shooman

Yesterday I went and did a bit of a walk. Actually ended up over 8 miles which whilst that may not seem like much, it was the longest I've done since my Dodgy Old Man knee decided to "retire" me from the L2B half way through (partially torn meniscus - all healed now though) I set off without much of a plan other than "go that way for a while, go that other way for a bit, go home again later" and that's pretty much exactly what I did. The vagaries of the UK late September weather meant it was simultaneously bloody cold, then really windy, then tee-shirt hot, then cold again and - almost - a thunder storm (check the pictures down the bottom for a few of the seasonal variations) There were a couple of twinges and tweaks and general creakiness but overall no adverse reactions and I was even able to stand up, unaided, later in the evening. I know right?! #AchievementUnlocked So I'm just about 1/12th of the way to the suggested 100 mile target for the challenge and about 80% of the way to the (modest) fundraiser I've set which, hopefully, I'll be able to exceed and raise a decent chunk for Cancer Research UK. I've blogged about my own personal brush with "C" and, as I'm sure most of us will relate to, have lost family and friends to this indiscriminate b*st*rd of a disease. Every single penny raised really does make a massive difference and whilst my plodding about around the South Downs and seafront(s) may not actually directly help, all your donations definitely do. Oh and the title of today's moider, it's the old car joke that also exactly applies to my "hill walking" Me: I've got a new car. It's a Rolls Canardly You: A Rolls Canardly? Whats that? Me: Its rolls down hill and can hardly get back up again You: *Groans* (and donates a quid for the rubbish #DadJoke) Diolch o'r galon pawb x Thank you from the heart everyone x
